Feral Phoenix
Feral Phoenix thumbnail
Feral Phoenix rly likin the balance of gentle, fun, relentless, and grim this album's got. there's a really shoegazey quality to the vocals that makes them feel more like another instrument than the focal point of a song Favorite track: Next To Me.

Peach Boy 03:13
And when the time has come will you run off to make your mark? Your secret lullaby will pull my strings to hurt my pride I'm wandering off again You're bored again, so cold again I'm counting the fingers off my hands And when I tell you so your lips they smack with tight control You smoked the rest of me and crushed me on the cracked cement If you're so bored if you're so grown why don't you run away? I'm counting the fingers off my hands
2.
Ghost 03:07 video
We're out of time He's breathing in but he's been dead the whole time I'm looking in His hollow body couldn't save him from this Into the ghost, we go Are you afraid? I'm not ashamed to feel this way You always say "a father would never leave his kids he'd stay" But I'm afraid You're breathing in but you've been dead the whole time I'm looking in Am I too late to see you in the light? Into the ghost, we go I'm not afraid of you I'm not afraid of me I'm not afraid to be
3.
Next To Me 03:38
Can you shake out all your dreams? Come with a smile on your face I could take your hand and run And then we'd fall on the floor When you're standing at my door you leave me wanting more But only dreams, I keep them next to me You've lit a fire inside my bones Yeah you say you are tough Narrow eyes when the timing is right If you think that's enough Go and wait for the morning light I'm waiting too long I've had it I want to scream And fuck being patient I'm fragile I'm not weak When you're standing at my door you leave me wanting more But only in my dreams, I keep them next to me You've lit a fire inside my bones
4.
Drown 02:52
When you drown You try your best to float Death in your eyes Fingers cold My dreams have failed But I can see If I blink twice Will you appear? My love is vast It fills the air
5.
Our Red Door 03:55
Sometimes I speak too loudly Around you When I'm far I'm thinking When does it end? Wearing thin So tired Remove this cast I want to see what's real Sometimes I see this red door When I step in I fall right in Then I see your red eyes Your hard skin Your thin veins You're bleeding Saying - "Someday I'll get you out"
6.
I think I need a break My head sticks out of place I need to take a walk I'll sleep when morning comes If I can't breathe under the sheets I'll be walking over the stars This fear I hold inside of me I hide so no one else can see When I am up I'll sing, I'll dance 'til the sun's up Hang around with my friends, take us for a ride I guess we're near the end I find this hard to begin I'll think about what's next And I'll drown in sorrowful bliss
7.
Why I Say No 04:40
Back when I was young I thought it was clever To stand up like my mama My head up like I mean it And if I cross my legs Will I be like the others? And if I stand up straight Will I climb, climb, climb? To the top Where I'm not That's why I say no I guess I'm just insane Yeah I'm told I've got no brain If I smile I'll be perfect Then I'll die with purpose I'll force my smile I'll fix my hair Clean up my house Shut up right now I'll think about the good I've done Say "yes" and breathe when I am done And if I cross my legs Will I be like the others? And if I stand up straight Will I climb, climb, climb? To the top Where I'm not That's why I say no
8.
SLOW 04:01
Show me which way to go Lead me and we'll take it slow Sneaking in your parents bed Laughing 'til our faces turn red Out of control This pattern I'm taking deep breaths Show me which way to go Lead me and we'll take it slow Sneaking in your parents bed Laughing 'til our faces turn red Sinking 'til I cannot swim Hold me because I feel so thin Out of control This pattern I'm taking deep breaths Take it slow, we'll take it slow (don't come back)
9.
Turn Into 03:23
My shadow disappeared Been gone for several years I wait for it's return I'll be here I'll be waiting The mirror creeps on me Melting suddenly I forget as time goes by I wish for a new sign As long as it is gone I won't be here for long My shadow disappeared Come help me, come save me Now that you're by my side Don't leave, don't hurt my pride You've turned into the sign I've wished for The light kisses my eyelids As I take a short breath I'm coming home
